Each person who operates a Maritime Radio is required by law to possess a Radio Operators Certificate (Maritime). This course will prepare you to operate a VHF radio on Pleasure Crafts and Voluntarily Fitted Vessels. The course will cover the normal operations of a VHF radio including sending/receiving messages, phonetic alphabet, regulations, as well as ho to effectively send and receive Distress, Urgent and Safety Messages. You will learn these skills on both Traditional VHF and VHF fitted with DSC.
