STCW Basic Safety

This 5 day course is designed to provide initial offshore training requirements for seafarers engaged in any capacity on board ship as part of the ship’s complement with designated safety or pollution prevention duties identified in the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW)

This course meets the requirements of Regulation VI/1 and Tables VI/1-1 through VI/1-4 A- VI/2 of the STCW Code and meets the requirements established by Transport Canada in the Marine Emergency Duty Training Program.

The aims and objectives of this course are to equip the trainee with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to perform the role as a seafarer effectively Trainees will be required to demonstrate their skills and the level of knowledge and understanding of:

1.     Personal survival techniques.

2.     Fire prevention and firefighting techniques

3.     Personal safety and social responsibility

This course provides an excellent combination of classroom and practical exercises using our modern state of the art facilities and equipment.

Training Duration & Timings

Approximately 40 hours of training will be completed over 5 days. Classes run from 07:30 to 16:30.
