TRAINING OVERVIEW

This four day course is designed to provide the training for candidates to launch and take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat in emergency situations, in accordance with Section A- VI/2 of the STCW Code and meets the requirements established by Transport Canada in the Marine Emergency Duty Training Program.

The Survival Craft training will prepare candidates involved in taking charge of the launching or handling of survival craft to achieve an appropriate level of competence and confidence in these operations.

This course provides an excellent combination of classroom (12 hr.) and practical exercises (16 hr.) using our modern state of the art facilities and equipment.

TRAINING DURATION & TIMINGS

Approximately 28 hours of training will be completed over 4 days. Classes run from 07:30 to 16:30.


Trainee must be at least 16 years of age. A Candidate Document Number (CDN) is required in order to obtain a Department of Transport certificate. Applicants without a CDN must fill out an "Application for a Candidate Document Number (CDN)", which can be found on Transport Canada's website. The completed application, together with two (2) documents as proof of identity, must be submitted in person to the closest Transport Canada office.
