Offshore Survival Introduction

Training Overview

The OSI course is designed to provide an introduction to emergency response training and procedures specific for offshore workers, both local and international.  The Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) component will provide an understanding of the hazards of helicopter over-water transportation; knowledge of personal and helicopter safety and survival equipment; and introduce you to emergency response procedures designed to prepare you for water impact with a subsequent abandonment on the surface or egress underwater.

NOTE:  For those required to use a compressed air Emergency Breathing System (EBS), several styles (HUEBA, HEEDS and SEA-LV2) are also offered.

Training Duration and Timings

Approximately 8 hours of training completed over 1 day.

Classes run from 0800 to 1600 (time can be altered if necessary).  Trainees absent from any component of the program will not be issued a certification until they have completed all requirements.

Additional courses can be scheduled based on client requests.

Trainees are expected to be in a good state of health and physically capable of fully taking part in all practical exercises.
